About Camp

What happens at camp?

We teach wake boarding, wake skating, and safe boating etiquette. We also mix in a little tubing behind the boat, and swimming to keep things fun and help everyone engaged and having fun.

Who do we instruct?

Youth ages 7-18 starting with kids who have never been on a boat to teens who are looking to land that next big trick and everywhere in between. It doesn’t matter if you’re 17 and are looking to strap into your first board; if you’re stoked about the water, we want to see you out at camp this summer. Keep in mind that we also try to group campers based upon skill and age as best we can during the registration process in order to maximize their experience.

Do the instructors at CTWC offer private lessons?

Yes. We offer lessons on your boat or ours. We also offer private instruction to all ages. Please call or see our Private Lessons page for details.

How long does camp last?

Each camp session is one week long. We start on Monday and end each camp session on Friday of that week.

Other camps only offer 4 day

sessions, but we stay out for the long haul.

Our Mission:

Central Texas Wake Camp strives to create a rewarding and positive week-long experience through instructional camps based around wake boarding and wake skating. We strive to not only build skill sets, but build friendships among our campers and our instructors as well. Our purpose is to foster progression without the expense of the enjoyment of the sport we love. All of this is sought after with the safety of our campers, counselors, and fellow boaters in mind.

Our Goals:

  1. Fun

  2. Helping every camper who comes through camp learn something new

  3. Instilling and nurturing positive attitudes

  4. Fostering knowledge about the sport and the lake

  5. Safety

  6. Fun

  7. Making friends

How we plan to reach those goals:

  1. Hard work

  2. Positive coaching

  3. Advice based on years in the industry

  4. Patience

  5. Teamwork (Wake Boarding involves so much more than just the rider)

  6. Building relationships

Does CTWC offer overnight accommodations for campers?

At this time we currently do not offer overnight accommodations, however, we are happy to help you locate hotels and RV parks within the area and direct you towards a host of entertainment while you are in town should you want to make a family trip to Austin during your camper’s stay at camp.

How many campers attend camp per week?

We book up to 5 campers per week. By maintaining two instructors at all times and low camper numbers we ensure that each camper receives adequate personal instruction and attention.

What are our rates?

We’ve priced ourselves as the lowest per day cost compared to other wake schools in the Central Texas area. Our rate of $575 a week per camper also covers all of the camper’s equipment needs during their week at camp so there are no additional rental charges. See our Parent Info page for the full scoop on our rates and other important info.

Where are we located?

We operate on the west end of Lake Austin. See our Map and Directions page for more details!

Why do we work on that part of the lake?

Calm water predicates quality wake boarding. The better the water, the more enjoyment you’ll get out of your experience. Since there is less traffic on Lake Austin above Emma Long, we feel like not only quality, but safety too, is greatly enhanced by choosing a quieter end of the lake.

Do you need to have your own equipment?

No. We have everything you need short of what’s listed in the What to Bring Guide. That includes wake boards of various sizes as well as boots to fit all, if not most, of our campers, and since another part of safety in wake boarding is proper fitting equipment we make sure to stock up to date equipment that meets and exceeds your camper’s performance needs.

Can you bring your own equipment to camp?

Sure thing. Please just let us know in advance that you are bringing your own equipment so that we can accommodate accordingly.

Is there a question you have that we didn’t answer here?

If you do, please E-mail that question to us at info@texaswakecamp.com. We’ll be happy to answer it for you promptly.
